The short version: we collect what's needed to run an auction alert service, we don't sell your data, and you can export or delete it from your Account page any time.
What we collect
- Account info — your email, optionally your name, and (if you set them up) your Pushover user key and SMS phone number for notification routing.
- Your searches and watched lots — every saved search you create, the criteria you set, and which auction lots you've paddled up.
- Interests — the categories and named terms you pick during onboarding, used to populate your curated rail.
- Usage analytics — when you sign in, run a search, save an alert, or trigger an action, we record a lightweight event with the event name, your user id, and a few properties about the action (e.g. the search query text and result count). We don't capture mouse movements, page recordings, or anything you'd find creepy.
- Billing metadata — your subscription tier and next renewal date. We never see or store your credit card. Lemon Squeezy handles all payment information.
What we do with it
- Run your searches against auction sites on the cadence you set.
- Send you alerts via email, Pushover, or SMS when matches happen.
- Show you metrics about your own account (your saved-search count, recent activity).
- Improve search quality — we read aggregate event data (e.g. "queries that returned zero results") to decide which sources to add or which synonyms to expand.
Who we share it with
We use four third-party services to make Huntrr work. Each gets the minimum data needed to do its job:
- Lemon Squeezy (billing) — your email and a Huntrr user id when you start a checkout. They handle the card; we never touch it.
- Loops (transactional email) — your email when we need to send you a magic sign-in link or an alert digest.
- Twilio (SMS, Dealer tier) — your phone number when we send you a text alert. Twilio bills us per message; you never see them in your account.
- Anthropic (search quality) — your saved-search query text once, when you create a search, so an AI can suggest related phrasings. We don't send watched lots, browsing history, or personal details. The call is logged for cost tracking, not for training.
We never sell data, never share with advertisers, and don't use third-party trackers (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Facebook Pixel, etc.).
Cookies and sessions
Huntrr sets one cookie (better-auth.session_token)
when you sign in. It's how we recognize you on subsequent page
loads. The cookie is HTTP-only, secure, and scoped to
.huntrr.app. There are no analytics cookies, no
marketing cookies, no third-party cookies.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account from /account, we hard-delete your user row and everything that cascades from it (saved searches, watched lots, search matches, alert history, interests, API tokens, sessions). The deletion is immediate and permanent. We don't keep "backup" copies for marketing purposes.
Event analytics may persist with your user id nulled out for aggregate funnel reporting. They contain no PII.
Your rights
- Export — hit "Export my data" on /account; you'll get a JSON dump of your account, saved searches, and watch list.
- Delete — hit "Withdraw permanently" on /account; type your email to confirm, we're gone in seconds.
- Correct — most editable fields are on /account or /onboarding?edit=1. Anything not editable from the UI: email us.
